My name is Keith Weiner, I currently hold a Masters of exercise science in performance enhancement and injury prevention from Penn West ( formerly The California University of Pennsylvania). I am a USA Triathlon certified triathlon level 1 coach, UESCA certified running coach, and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Completing a triathlon was a bucket list goal that I decided to strike off the list as I turned 40 in 2019. I signed up for my first sprint distance race and fell in love with the sport before the 1/2 mile swim, 12.3 mile bike, and 4.4 mile run even began. After that first race, I was officially hooked and my life was changed forever.
As a parent of 4 boys, a personal trainer, coach and athlete I know first hand that balancing the demands of a career, parenthood, and triathlon training is a Herculean task. As a working parent I often find my days packed with professional responsibilities and family care, leaving little room for the extensive training that triathlon requires. Fluid and fluctuating workouts become the norm.
Through these challenges, no matter how daunting, has provided an opportunity for growth and learning. In the face of adversity, we're forced to adapt, problem-solve, and develop resilience. By navigating these difficulties first hand, I have gained a deeper understanding of our capabilities as parents, have learned to prioritize effectively, and have discovered, and continue to discover, new strategies for overcoming obstacles. Ultimately, it has been through experience that I have evolved as an athlete and coach, becoming stronger and more capable of handling whatever life throws at us
